When we started working with Nicole, we were just in the beginning stages of looking at homes, but because of her help, we were able to purchase a lot sooner than we expected! You could go see any mortgage advisor, but I think you’ll be hard pressed to find someone who cares for her clients as much as Nicole! Two years ago, she helped me remortgage my home through a difficult separation. I wouldn’t have known how to navigate my unique situation at the best of times, never mind while tired, emotional and stressed. It all felt so overwhelming until I sat down with Nicole. I have a learning disability that can make it hard to follow numbers, so I expected to do a lot of fake nodding my head through the fog as she explained variable vs fixed interest rates and debt ratios, but I immediately found that inauthenticity wasn’t necessary while speaking with Nicole. While she was professional and concise in her delivery of information, she was also incredibly patient and kind. She took the time to hear my story and understand what was important. She helped me develop a plan specific to my needs, and the steps I needed to take to get there. I never felt that I couldn’t ask questions, even if it was the same one for a third or even fifth time. Nicole would just smile and calmly rephrase things as many times as needed until we both felt confident we were on the same page. She did this with me and again with my parents as we determined an eligible co-signer. It was a big decision for everyone, and it was clear Nicole wanted to keep all of our best interests at heart. I’ll never forget the wave of relief I felt when all the paperwork finally went through. Nicole had found us an agreeable mortgage lender in the nick of time, and it was all signed and done one day before rising interest rates would have knocked me out of the housing market, leaving me with too many fur babies to rent with! I still don’t think it all would have been possible for me without her help specifically. She never wavered in her warm, inviting professionalism, nor did she sugar coat anything or give false hope. Our success was likely a combination of lucky timing and determination - but the former doesn’t count for much if you don’t have the latter. And you can be as determined as you want, but if you don’t have knowledge behind your intentions, you’re still a bit like a beached sailboat. As I was watching my dogs play in the yard this morning, the gravity of what I could have lost had we not pulled this together hit me all over again. So thank you, Nicole, for going above and beyond, showing me which way to tilt my wheel! I know who I’d like to be beached with the next time the wind blows!!
